    The site of the museum is made up of three units:

   U.S. Observation Post

  • Former US Point Alpha, the only remaining former border observation
       point of the US Forces in Hesse, was declared a National Monument in 1995.
       Original buildings and equipment have been preserved.







    •    Samples of the Border Security System

  • This open-air part of the museum shows the constant modifications
        to the border security system between 1945 - 1989







    •    House on the Border

  • A 600 mē exhibition shows how the GDR-regime affected people and nature.
       The second story shows the Biosphere Reserve Rhoen
       with its wonderful nature.
