Fate of people and homes become alive again at original places near Point Alpha. Contemporary witnesses report on tragic incidents and historical background.

Visit an original demolition shaft near Point Alpha and learn more about the dangers in the Fulda Gap.

Under Observation

An original command tower provides an insight to the security system of the GDR border troops. The expert guide will tell about border incidents and illustrates the dramatic situation of separated Germany.

A visual journey through German history. Film documents, contemporary witnesses and political incidents provide a frame for the trip.

    Conferences and seminars can be held at Point Alpha. Conference and seminar rooms are equipped with modern technology. Up to 30 beds are available (2 X 3 two-tier beds/ 2 X 4 two-tier beds/ 2 single rooms)

    These offerings can be supplemented by music, dancing, campfire, artistic and handicraft activities and, in case of longer stays, visits to interesting sites in the area.

    In House:
    Beverages, coffee and cake, meals for up to 50 persons.

    Rooms have modest youth hostel character
    2 rooms each with 6 beds (3 two-tier beds)

    Conference Rooms:

    Small seminar room in the former US Camp, Barrack B
    or approximately 30 persons

    Small room in the House on the Border for approximately
    30 persons.

    Large room in the House on the Border for 50 to 80 persons.
    For lectures (chairs only, no tables) with room for up to 150 people.

    Cafeteria

    Visit the snack bar "Black Horse Inn" on the former OP Point Alpha. If ordered in advance, we can provide a complete meal for bus or hiking groups of up to 50 persons.
